Two teenagers have been arrested after a man was stabbed outside a Birkenhead bar.
Detectives will question the 14-year-old and 19-year-old, both from the Tranmere area, in connection with the incident at Charing Cross late on Saturday evening.
At around 10.25pm, ambulance crews called police to Yates Wine Bar after the victim was found with knife injuries to his back and buttocks.
He was later treated in hospital, where his condition was described as ‘stable’.
It is believed the 37-year-old may have been involved in an altercation with a group of males outside a nearby bakery.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that both teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of wounding.
Anyone who was in Birkenhead town centre who may have witnessed the incident or has any information is urged to call 0151 777 2260 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
