Aintree Racecourse and Goffs UK are pleased to announce a new partnership that increases Goffs UK’s involvement at Aintree, as well introducing a sale of Horses in Training after racing on Grand Opening Day of the Crabbie’s Grand National Festival,Thursday, April 7, 2016.
Goffs UK already has a successful sponsorship portfolio and will further extend the relationship by sponsoring a race on Grand Opening Day. Goffs UK will then stage a select sale of Horses in Training after racing, making use of the natural amphitheatre provided by the iconic winner’s enclosure at Aintree.
The catalogue will feature a limited number of Horses in Training who will include recent winners of bumpers and point-to-points, and offers the chance to sell a horse with an entry in the world’s greatest chase, the Crabbie’s Grand National.
All horses will be stabled at the racecourse, in close proximity to the pre-parade ring. They will be vetted prior to sale and be available to view throughout the day onThursday, April 7.
Existing Goffs UK sponsorship commitments will also be repeated at Aintree throughout 2016.
Commenting on this new initiative, Goffs UK Managing Director, Henry Beeby said: “We have been in discussions with the team at Aintree for some time and I am delighted that we have reached an agreement that will benefit both parties. I would like to thank Andrew Tulloch and his colleagues at Aintree for all of their help to date and we look forward to working with them to further enhance what is already a world class Jump race meeting. The addition of the Goffs UK Grand National Sale at Aintree, and the fact that the facilities at the racecourse are all in such close proximity, is a natural extension to our sales programme and will help to ensure that Goffs UK is once again the first choice for this category.”
Andrew Tulloch, Head of Racing at Aintree Racecourse, commented: “We are delighted to extend our existing relationship with Goffs UK and bring a Goffs UK Grand National Sale to Aintree on Grand Opening Day. We are always trying to bring exciting new initiatives to the Crabbie’s Grand National and this will certainly bring added flavour to the opening day of one of the world’s greatest Jump festival. We look forward to working with the Goffs UK team to make this, and the existing portfolio of activity, a huge success.”
Goffs UK consultant Michael Moore is also excited by the new announcement and said: “It is vitally important that there are regular sales at Goffs UK to offer recent point-to-point winners and with options at Doncaster, Newbury and now Aintree, there is a very exciting portfolio of sales run by the Goffs UK team. I am confident that the Aintree concept could really catch the imagination of vendors and purchasers and I look forward to working with new and established clients at a venue that has all of the credentials to achieve the very best prices.”
