Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man assaulted outside a New Brighton nightclub on Boxing Day died in hospital.
Zac Matthew Wells sustained head injuries in the incident on Marine Promenade close to Evo’s Loft at around 3.45am on December 26.
A specially trained family liaison officer is providing support to the 30-year-old from Liscard’s relatives after he was formally identified.
Police have now arrested a 29-year-old man from Poulton, a 16-year-old man from Egremont and a 26-year-old woman from Birkenhead.
A 19-year-old man from Egremont has also been taken into custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Gary Stratton: “Zac’s death is a tragedy and has left his family and friends devastated.
“We are determined to find out exactly what happened and our enquiries into this incident are ongoing.
“We are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in Evo’s Loft nightclub before the incident took place, or anyone who was outside and witnessed the incident or its immediate aftermath to get in touch with us.
“Any information could prove vital to our investigation.”
