St Johns Shopping Centre holding festive fundraiser

Shoppers in Liverpool are being invited to take part in three days of festive fundraising this week for local charity Claire House.

Representatives from the children’s hospice will be at St Johns Shopping Centre from Thursday, December 15 until Saturday, December 17 to collect donations.

In exchange, people will have the chance to leave a special Christmas message on their Christmas tree while families will also have the opportunity to meet and get pictures with the furry and friendly official Claire House mascot, Claire Bear.

Money raised during the three days will go towards the opening of the charity’s second site in West Derby, which St Johns has pledged to support through various fundraising activities.

Claire House Children’s Hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children to live life to the full by creating wonderful experiences and bringing back a sense of normality to family life.

Robert Bradley, centre manager for St Johns, said: “Christmas is a very special time for everyone, and especially families.

“That’s why we’re so happy to be able to contribute in any way to the incredibly worthwhile work undertaken at Claire House, as they provide the ultimate care for the families who rely on them all year around.

”Having Claire House representatives in the centre for three days this week is a great opportunity for us as a community to show our support for this service.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what Christmas messages our customers put on the tree.”
