CCTV images released of Liverpool One robbery

Police have released CCTV images of three men they would like to speak to following a robbery in Liverpool city centre.

A woman was approached by three men in School Lane, close to Liverpool One, who had entered the road from the direction of Paradise Street.

One of the men pushed the victim onto the floor and grabbed her handbag before running through Keys Court in the direction of Waterstones book shop, followed by the other two men.

The trio made off with a black Prada leather tote handbag which contained a quantity of cash in US dollars and sterling, together with a pair of Valentino glasses.

Some of the contents of the bag were discovered the following day on Argyle Street, in the nearby Ropewalks area of the city centre.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was left badly shaken following the incident, which took place at around 11.50pm on Thursday, December 1.

The man who took the handbag is described as being in his 20s, around 6ft tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a large winter-type coat.

The other two men were described as being both white in their 20s, with one having a pointy nose.

An investigation is currently underway and detectives have issued CCTV images of three males who they believe could assist with their enquiries.

Detective Inspector Steve Christian said: “This was a frightening experience. Thankfully the woman in question has not been badly injured but she has been left shaken by her ordeal.

“I would expect even at 11.50pm at night there would still have been people walking through the Liverpool One shopping complex, either after having been to the cinema or in one of the local bars or restaurants, who may have seen the three males in the CCTV either before the robbery or running away afterwards.

“I would also appeal to the three males in the CCTV to come forward as I believe they may be able to assist with this investigation.”
