Three teenagers have been arrested following the alleged assault of a police officer in Queens Square.
The incident took place at around 3.10pm on Monday, causing disruption to the busy city centre bus station as crowds gathered.
Merseyside Police have confirmed that a 15-year-old girl was arrested for assaulting a police officer and the possession of a controlled drug.
A 13-year-old boy was also detained at the scene for threatening behaviour and assault while a 17-year-old boy is also in custody for disorderly behaviour.
The 17-year-old was later charged with a public order offence and will appear at Liverpool and Knowsley Youth Court in the city centre on December 20.
Both the girl and the other boy have been bailed pending further enquiries.
