£4m refurb of Liverpool John Lennon Airport begins

Plans to renovate Liverpool John Lennon Airport have begun with £4 million being invested.

The upper floor of the departure lounge will be upgraded to bring it in line with other areas of the Speke terminal that have undergone similar improvements over the past 18 months.

Utilising the services of a number of local building and shop fit companies, link these latest improvement works are expected to be completed in June 2017.

Ahead of the peak summer season, ampoule renovations are taking place in the first area that passengers enter having completed the security screening process.

A reconfigured retail area for both new and existing retail partners, completely new washroom facilities, large flight information screens and new seating will be included in the facelift.

John Lennon Airport completed its first phase of terminal improvements earlier this year with £2.5 million invested in a number of new and improved facilities.

David Taylor, LJLA’s interim Commercial Manager said:“We are looking to create a real ‘wow factor’ for passengers as we welcome them into the departure lounge, further enhancing the customer experience and building on the really positive passenger feedback following the completion of the first phase of terminal improvements earlier this year.

“We believe these latest improvements and additions to the lounge will continue to grow our reputation as the faster, easier, friendlier airport of choice for passengers as we look to create the airport our region loves.”
