A body has been found in the search for missing Halewood man Neil Hughes.
The 31-year-old was reported missing from his home in Chartwell Grove on Wednesday, November 23 with a final possible sighting in the nearby Belle Vale area on Thursday afternoon.
Friends and family took to social media to appeal for details on the Liverpool FC fan’s whereabouts and saw several of ex-players, including Robbie Fowler and Jamie Carragher, supporting the effort to find him.
But Merseyside Police have confirmed that a body believed to be that of Mr Hughes was discovered in an out building at his family home on Thursday evening.
A post mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death but at this stage the death is not believed to be suspicious.
Officers are still trying to trace Neil’s last movements and have appealed to anyone who may have seen him to contact detectives in Knowsley on 0151 777 6578.
