Police searching for Josef Thompson have discovered a body they believe is that of the missing Aigburth man.
A body believed to belonging to the 22-year-old was found in woodland near Sefton Park was uncovered early on Thursday.
Josef went missing earlier from his home on St Michaels Church Road on November 10.
Detectives launched an extensive appeal in a bid to trace the musician and artist with a CCTV appeal launched earlier this month.
At this stage police do not believe that the death was under suspicious circumstances while Josef’s family have been informed of the discovery.
A post mortem examination will take place to establish the cause of death.
