Masterful Mbappé: The one to watch at Euro 2020

After getting a taste for major international tournaments at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, where he scored a respectful four goals, Kylian Mbappé is going to step his performances for France up a notch at the upcoming European Championships.

A supercomputer study commissioned by bookmaker Casumo has revealed that the 22-year-old is set to have a great tournament, as he leads Les Bleus to European glory for the first time since Euro 2000 — where David Trezeguet’s dramatic Golden Goal secured a 2-1 win over Italy at De Kuip in Rotterdam.

In the supercomputer simulation, France, who are the slight tournament favourites ahead of England at 5/1, beat defending champions Portugal 2-0 in the Wembley finale with Mbappé being named the tournament’s Player of the Tournament — a feat that is also 5/1— and Young Player of the Tournament.

The Paris Saint-Germain striker was also awarded with the tournament’s Golden Boot. Mbappé, who is currently around 10/1 in the top scorer Euro 2020 odds, bagged an impressive seven goals across the course of the tournament.

Number crunchers at the bookmarkers ran the simulation of the European Championships using a unique statical model. Their series of complex calculations include: age, form, xG, fixtures and squads.
