These days we’ve been seeing countless football talents rising from various club academies. In a bid to have a tight hold on their future prospect, Premier League giants Liverpool have now tied down their academy goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros to a new long-term contract despite the youngster missing the majority of the 2019/20 campaign due to injury.
The Czech youngster, who is said to be one of the best talents in Liverpool’s youth team, was only able to register three appearances for his team this season following an elbow injury he succumbed to making him missed the rest of the season.
The 18-year-old goalkeeper caught Jurgen Klopp’s eye, on the day he participated in the match against Tranmere Rovers, which ended with the Reds thrashing the opponents in a 6-0 win; he was only on the pitch till half-time before succumbing to his injury. At the beginning of the year the youngster recovers from his injury, and to show his faith in Jaros, Klopp named him in the substitutes’ bench in the senior team’s 1-0 victory against League One side Shrewsbury in the FA Cup back in February, the match was covered with some interesting odds in football betting that made the fans excited even after the end of the game.
We might not be able to see Joras in action anytime soon, as the youth team campaign will only be expected to resume in September, right after the season ended prematurely back in March due to the famous pandemic. However, this did not affect Liverpool’s belief in the young goalkeeper, as they seem to hold tight their player by offering a new long-term contract, which was confirmed to be signed and secured on Thursday.
Showing his appreciation for the deal, the Youngster wrote on Twitter: “More than happy to be able to sign a new long-term contract with this wonderful club”
For all we know, Jaros might just go up the Liverpool ranks just like Trent Alexandre-Arnold, who has made his name known throughout Europe, helping his club win the UEFA Champions League and now becoming champions of the 2019/20 Premier League.
The faith the Reds’ manager, Klopp, put in him might just serve as another inspiration as he improves his goalkeeping skills. Jaros moved to Anfield in the summer of 2017 from Slavia Prague. This week has seen Liverpool part ways with goalkeeper Daniel Atherton, Shamal George, and Kai McKenzie-Lyle but only Jaros remained with the club.
In other news, Liverpool has been on the transfer market scouting for potential players that could possibly strengthen up their team ahead of next season and they are currently linked with a move to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers stars Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore this summer.
Reports surging in the media claim that the Premier League Champions are ready to launch an offer for Traore with hopes moving a step ahead of several European giants like Juventus and Manchester City, who are both interested in signing the Spanish winger.
While Jimenez, on the other hand, is also being eyed by several European clubs with Manchester United paying special attention to the Mexican forward.
Together, Traore and Jimenez have been terrifying in both the Premier League and Europa League this season for the Wolves, they are also pivotal in helping the club so close to the top four of the English Top Flight.
Now the Reds are being back by their former star Stan Collymore, who is urging the club to sign the Wolves duo this summer. He said: “Liverpool should have two Wolves players on their shopping lists this summer – Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore.
“Traore is the obvious one but Jimenez has settled into the Premier League like a duck to water. He’s great in the box, attacks cross exceptionally well, links play, and is an all-round eight out of ten in the act of striking.
“He could provide real competition for Bobby Firmino at Anfield.”
