Premier League football generates over £43 million worth of travel and tourism to Liverpool’s local economy.
A study by GoEuro.co.uk has found that interest in Everton and Liverpool has seen the local area ranked as the third-highest grossing area in the country, with only London and Manchester surpassing that tally in a list of the regions covered by the English top flight:

GoEuro also compared the total income generated locally for the top five European Leagues.
The company found that the British Premier League is the most profitable, earning over £200 million more than Germany’s Bundesliga league, which generates £238,695,000 in tourism and transportation income locally.
The study shows the total amount split across factors such as transport to the city (£3,326,000) , accommodation (£312,000), Inner City Transport (£20,330,000) and food and beverage spend (£23,242,000).
The report concludes the staggering figure that the premier league alone is worth £1,312,877,000 across the country with £447,688,000 spent on travel and tourism.
