Muhamed Besic is ‘on his way to being back’ for Everton, according to Ronald Koeman.
Besic, 24, missed the start of the Blues’ season after suffering a cruciate knee injury against Manchester United during Wayne Rooney’s testimonial in August.
The midfielder lasted just 12 minutes into the game at Old Trafford and was expected to spend a minimum spell of six months on the sidelines.
Koeman has not specified a tine frame for Besic’s anticipated return but believes that the Bosnian’s current recovery is encouraging.
“He’s progressing well. He’s on his way to being back,” said Koeman.
“It’s a long-term injury and you need to be patient.
“But the medical staff are really happy with Mo because he has shown a really good professional attitude.
“That makes it easier to come back.”
