Fourth man questioned over Blake Brown killing

A fourth man has been arrested on suspicion of the murder of Blake Brown.

Detectives are questioning a 25-year-old of no fixed abode arrested in the early hours of this morning in connection with the killing of Brown in Aigburth on Monday night.

Two men, both 22-year-olds and from Croxteth and a 24-year-old from Anfield have already been detained since the 30-year-old was gunned down in Southwood Road.

Police have reopened Priory Woods to the public after combing the area for the firearm which is believed to have killed Brown earlier this week.

The force have appealed for information about a hatchback car seen in Moel Famau View at around 9.50pm on Monday night, just 40 minutes before the murder occurred.

Investigators are also keen to hear from anyone who saw a group spotted in the nearby woods with torches around the same time.

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Tivendale said: “We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who saw a stationary, dark-coloured hatchback in Moel Famau View around 9.50pm on Monday night.

“This car was parked south-facing at the junction with Riverside Drive, with the River Mersey on the right.

“Anyone who saw this car or anyone acting suspiciously in the area between 9.50pm and 10.30pm is urged to contact us.

“If you were passing this junction in a car, taxi, motorbike or bicycle and have recorded dashcam or headcam footage, we would urge you to come forward immediately.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 0800 230 0600 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
