Liverpool John Lennon Airport has been named the most punctual in the UK.
New figures revealed by the Civil Aviation Authority showed flights departing from the Speke terminal in 2025 were delayed by an average of just over nine minutes.
That figure is a full minute less than Southend Airport while neighbouring Manchester Airport ranked as the worst for delays with 19 minutes 30 seconds.
More than 1,000 outbound flights of scheduled and charter departures from 23 UK airports were analysed as part the findings which did not include cancellations.
Anna Bowles, head of consumer at the CAA, said: “Delays have a real impact on people heading off on holidays.
“When disruption occurs, how the industry responds really matters.
“Passengers should be kept informed and given the care and support they are entitled to.”
