Everton have staged an audacious bid for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani.
A host of European clubs are in the hunt for the 21-year-old including Arsenal and Napoli but the Blues have signalled their intent with an approach to the Serie A champions.
Rugani excelled for Juve in the second half of last season as they strode to a record 32nd Scudetto after forcing his way into Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.
But Calciomercato claim that Everton are attempting to test the Italians’ resolve with a £25.5 million bid but have been told that the player is currently not for sale.
