Everton are setting their sights on Arkadiusz Milik after missing out on Graziano Pelle.
Ronald Koeman has turned his attention to the Ajax forward following Pelle’s move to Shadong Luneng earlier this week, which put paid to a reunion at the Blues.
The Italy international worked with Koeman during spells at Feyenoord and Southampton but his lucrative to China forced the Everton manager to rethink his options.
And the Liverpool Echo claim that Milik is currently being assessed by Koeman.
Milik struck 21 goals in all competitions for Ajax last season and opened the scoring for Poland against Northern Ireland at Euro 2016 as his country reached the quarter-finals.
Marc Overmars, the Dutch club’s sporting director, recently admitted that major offers for the 22-year-old would be considered this summer.
He said: “At the moment the departure of the player isn’t scheduled, we’re not selling him.
“To get things started it’d take a monster offer, but it would only be possible after the Champions League qualifiers [at the start of August].”
