Everton are locked in talks with Manchester United over a deal to land Juan Mata.
Ronald Koeman worked with the Spain international during his time in charge at Valencia and is now said to be on the verge of securing a reunion with the midfielder at the Blues.
Mata’s future at Old Trafford appears increasingly precarious following the appointment of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who sold him to United in 2014, and the impending arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.
