Everton FC set to challenge West Ham for Real Madrid playmaker

Everton have reportedly been offered the chance to sign Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic.

New Blues boss Ronald Koeman is set to be handed a £100 million transfer war chest this summer and could move for the Croatian playmaker, recipe according to the Daily Mail.

Kovacic was restricted to mainly cameo appearances since moving to the Spanish capital last summer and has been touted for a season-long loan elsewhere.

Roma have emerged as one of the clubs interested in taking that option but the European champions would also accept offers for a permanent deal in the region of £30 million.

Both Everton and West Ham are among those chasing the 22-year-old, prostate who was previously linked with a move to local rivals Liverpool.
