Everton FC firm up interest in Poland winger Kamil Grosicki

Everton are said to have stepped up their pursuit of Poland winger Kamil Grosicki.

Ronald Koeman remains keen on the 28-year-old, who is expected to feature for his country during tonight’s Euro 2016 quarter-final with Portugal, and the Blues have reportedly attempted to signal their intent with an opening offer to the player’s club Rennes.

With £100 million to spend in the transfer market this summer, Ouest-France claim that the Everton manager has tabled a bid of £6.6 million for Grosicki to the Ligue 1 club.

However Rennes are holding out for a marginally higher sum in the region of £8.25 million.

Koeman’s interest in Grosicki is not likely to spell the end to Kevin Mirallas’ time at Goodison Park, which had appeared ominous under his predecessor Roberto Martinez.

The Belgium international missed out on a place at Euro 2016 after being used sparingly by Martinez, who restricted him to just 13 starts in 30 overall appearances last season.

Everton rejected a £6 million offer for Mirallas, 28, from West Ham last summer and Koeman is keen to restore the winger to his previous good run of form.
