Everton FC set to battle Southampton for Euro 2016 striker

Everton are vying with Southampton to sign Italy forward Simone Zaza.

Ronald Koeman is planning to bolster the Blues’ attacking options with the anticipated departure of Romelu Lukaku and has reportedly turned his attention to the 25-year-old.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Zaza’s representatives have been sounded out by officials from both Everton and West Ham United, as well as Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg with the marksman facing a lack of playing time with Juventus.

But Koeman’s former club could be set to thwart their departed manager with a potential swap deal for Saints striker Graziano Pelle, another of Everton’s summer targets, touted as Juve brace themselves for Alvaro Morata’s inevitable move to Real Madrid.
