Tim Iroegbunam has hailed Everton new boy Iliman Ndiaye as ‘magic’.

Ndiaye took on a starring role as Sean Dyche’s side booked their place in the Carabao Cup’s third round with Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Doncaster Rovers.

The forward later claimed his first Blues goal with a superb solo strike while fellow new recruit Jesper Lindstrom played a hand in the hosts’ opener.

And Iroegbuman, whose sweeping effort set the wheels in motion for the victory, admits Ndiaye has been a revelation since joining from Marseille.

“He’s magic,” said the midfielder.

“Every time he gets on the ball, I know he’s going to create something. He’s so hard to get near, I can’t tackle him.

“Training [with him] it’s ridiculous. Same with Jesper – good feet. Just sharp.

“Jake (O’Brien) is solid. Can pick a pass and a good defender, so all the signs have been good.”

Iroegbunam has featured in all three of Everton’s opening games as they remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League table after two defeats.

But the 21-year-old believes that the score lines, notably in an opening-day loss to Brighton, do not reflect how Dyche’s players have performed so far.

He added: “Against Brighton I don’t really think that was a fair reflection of how the game went, especially in the first half.

“Obviously when you get chances you have to take them otherwise they get chances and score, and then the game looks like they’ve battered us.

“But that’s not really how it went. Obviously we’re a good side, we just need to build confidence.

“Hopefully this is the game that’s done it for us, to give us momentum.”
