Arne Slot’s Liverpool backroom staff is beginning to take shape.
Just a week since Slot was confirmed as Jurgen Klopp’s successor, several of his former Feyenoord lieutenants are set to join his fledgling Anfield reign.
Sipke Hulshoff will assume duties as the Reds’ new assistant manager after serving as the 45-year-old’s deputy during his three-year spell at De Kuip.
Also joining the new era from the Eredivisie outfit will be Ruben Peeters, who arrives to take up the role of the club’s first-team physical performance coach.
The 32-year-old spent six years as KRC Genk’s fitness coach prior to linking up with Slot in his previous role and will take up similar duties on Merseyside.
Peeters’ representatives Claes Agency confirmed his impending switch on Monday in a LinkedIn post which also revealed Hulshoff’s appointment.
“Done deal by Claes Agency: Ruben Peeters to Liverpool FC!”, the company wrote.
“Ruben will be Liverpool FC’s first team lead physical performance coach, accompanying Arne Slot and Sipke Hulshoff.
“From KRC Genk to Feyenoord to the big stages at Liverpool FC. You’ll Never Walk Alone Ruben Peeters! Inspired by your future.”
Slot has already laid early groundwork by bringing Liverpool’s pre-season training schedule forward by a week in efforts to ensure full preparations.
