Everton are reportedly set to trump Juventus to the signing of Vincent Aboubakar.
Talks between Blues officials and the Porto front man, 24, have opened as new manager Ronald Koeman looks to bolster his options ahead of the forthcoming Premier League campaign, with Oumar Niasse and Arouna Kone both proving far from convincing.
Should Aboubakar, scored 16 times in 36 outings last season, secure a move to Goodison Park, it will be to work alongside Romelu Lukaku rather than to replace the club’s first choice striker, according to the Daily Mail.
The Belgium international continues to envisage a future away from Everton despite Koeman’s appointment as Roberto Martinez’s successor last week and a pledged £100 million transfer war chest from majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.
