Liverpool have claimed the Premier League’s Player and Manager of the Month for January.
Diogo Jota beat teammate Conor Bradley and four other top-flight peers to win the Player of the Month after producing three goals and two assists.
Jota was joined by Jurgen Klopp, who claimed the Manager of the Month after a 100% record with four or more goals in each outing last month.
The outgoing Reds’ manager is now the joint fourth-highest recipent of the award, level with his West Ham counterpart David Moyes on ten apiece.
Should he win it again before Pep Guardiola, Klopp will equal his current title race rival’s haul of 11 to move third in the Premier League’s all-time rankings.
He said: “December was already [tough] because it was game after game after game, and then more like limping into January, you never know.
“Obviously in that moment Wataru [Endo] and Mo [Salah] left [to international duty], so the boys did incredibly well.
“We had great results, went through to the [Carabao Cup] final, played exceptional FA Cup games.
“It was a really good month, surprisingly good, to be honest.”
