Jurgen Klopp has explained Trent Alexander-Arnold’s withdrawal during Liverpool’s game with Burnley.

Alexander-Arnold was taken off at half time of Saturday’s Premier League encounter at Anfield, where the hosts eventually ran out as 3-1 winners.

The Reds’ vice-captain had only recently returned to action following a knee ligament injury sustained in last month’s FA Cup third round win over Arsenal.

And Klopp revealed that Alexander-Arnold’s substitution was due to him suffering a potential relapse with the same injury he had only recently shaken.

“It’s the same area in the knee,” he told Sky Sports.

“Nothing really bad, but he felt it again and we have to see, we have to assess it.

“Trent said it’s fine, but it’s not fine [because] he feels it so we had to be careful and took him off.”
