Former Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is taking the club to court.
Ancelotti spent 18 months in the Goodison Park hot seat between December 2019 and June 2021 before departing for his current employers Real Madrid.
But the fallout from the Italian’s time on Merseyside is set to continue as both parties plan to take an ongoing contractual dispute to London’s High Court.
Last week’s filing by Ancelotti’s legal representatives alleges that the case centres on ‘general commercial contracts and arrangements’ prior to his exit.
The three time Champions League-winning coach’s appointment as Marco Silva’s successor had been considered something of a coup at the time.
Ancelotti’s return to the Bernabeu, however, shattered those illusions after leading Everton to 12th and 10th place finishes respectively while in charge.
