Jurgen Klopp has hit back at Dietmar Hamann’s criticisms of Liverpool.
Hamann has routinely slammed his former club since the start of the season, most recently claiming they lacked ‘spark’ after Sunday’s defeat to Arsenal.
Previously, the Germany international theorised Klopp’s assistant Pep Ljinders had exacerbated the Reds’ poor run by publishing a book over the summer.
Hamann also suggested that conversations about his compatriot’s future in the Anfield hot seat may soon need to be had if their malaise continues.
But ahead of his side’s Champions League, Klopp delivered a withering response to Hamann following his most recent media barb about the club.
Asked about Hamann’s ‘spark’ comments, the Liverpool manager replied: “Oh great. A fantastic source, well respected everywhere…
“That (being a former Liverpool player) does not give you the right to say what you want, especially when you have no idea.
“I actually think Didi Hamann does not deserve that you use his phrase to ask a question.”
