Jurgen Klopp reveals Liverpool transfer U-turn

Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool are open to further signings before the transfer window closes.

Klopp previously insisted he was happy with the current crop at Anfield after the summer arrivals of Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay.

But the German has now admitted that he is open to the possibility of signing fresh reinforcements before Thursday’s deadline due to a host of injuries.

A host of early-season injuries decimated the Reds’ squad and leaves them worryingly light on midfield options ahead of Saturday’s visit of Bournemouth.

“There’s really nothing to say about it,” said Klopp.

“We are looking for it and if it’s it the right player, we need him. If it’s not the right player, we don’t need him.

“I know we had this discussion now since it all started and I’m the one who said we don’t need a midfielder and now we go for a midfielder.

“You were right and I was wrong. That’s the situation.

“But the specific point doesn’t change – if we do something [in the market] then it has to be the right one. That’s how it is.

“Curtis (Jones) comes back, Thiago not too far off, Diogo (Jota) not too far off, Joel (Matip) comes back and it all eases the situation slightly.

“It would be great if nobody gets on the list but a really intense time coming up. We know all that.

“We cannot change and will not change for that the way we deal with the situations. So there’s nothing really for me to say in this moment. Let’s see.”
