Everton have finalised a deal to land promising Coventry City forward Bassala Sambou.
The 18-year-old agreed a three-year deal with the Blues on Thursday and will begin training with the club’s second-string after a compensation package was agreed with the League One side.
David Unsworth scouted the talented attacker throughout the season and was suitably impressed as Sambou struck 25 goals for the Midlands club’s youth sides.
And the Everton under-21 coach has suggested that he expects the teenager to eventually become a Premier League player.
“I tracked his progress over the whole of last season and he’ll be a quality player to take into the Under-21 group and he’s a really exciting prospect for the future,” he told Everton’s official website.
“We’re pleased to be able to take him here as I believe he’ll be a Premier League player in the future.”
