A woman was rushed to hospital after being attacked by dogs who had been fighting in the street.
It is understood that the victim was bitten on the arm after becoming caught up in the incident at approximately 9am on 25th May.
Locals reported residents going in to the street to watch the commotion unfold. A neighbour reported hearing shouting and swearing before someone was taken in to the back of a police van.
Several police cars attended the scene and blocked entry to Cedar Close whilst the incident took place.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: ‘At around 8.55am, officers were called to an address in Cedar Grove after it was reported that two dogs were fighting and a woman had sustained a bite wound to her arm. ‘Emergency services are in attendance and the woman’s injury, described as non-life threatening, will be assessed.’ A North West Ambulance spokesman said: ‘We went to an incident on Cedar Grove, Toxteth, at 09.08 this morning. An ambulance took a female patient to hospital.’
