A Liverpool man has been jailed for his role in a drugs ring attempting to smuggle drugs in children’s lunchboxes.
Paul McNulty, 42, from West Derby has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being arrested for attempts to transport an estimated £120,000 haul of cocaine from Liverpool to Bristol in September 2015.
Police foiled Mr McNulty’s operation when an Audi van was stopped on the A38 by Avon and Somerset Police, the lunchbox was discovered and was later found to contain a kilogram package of 75% pure cocaine.
Mr McNulty’s fingerprints were discovered on the package and Police subsequently raided his Grenadier Drive home and arrested him, finding an estimated £450,000 in cash stashed at the address.
Ms Magdalena Kowelaska, from Bristol, collected the drugs from McNulty in Liverpool before being stopped by Police on the motorway. She was also jailed for seven years for intent to supply.
Mr Lukasz Przyborowski, who was in the car with Ms Kowelaska, was hired as a drug courier by Mr McNulty and was also for three years for his role.
