Carlo Ancelotti is relaxed about talks over Seamus Coleman’s Everton future.
Coleman’s existing deal at Goodison Park is set to expire next summer, by which point he will have been with the club for the best part of 13 years.
Director of football Marcel Brands recently revealed that he is already in discussions to extend the Republic of Ireland international’s long-term role.
But Ancelotti insists that the Blues are still not rushing into extending Coleman’s contract despite playing a key role under his current manager.
The Italian believes that the 32-year-old has a deal for life on Merseyside on account of his role as a tireless servant as well as Everton’s club captain.
“I don’t think we have to talk about the contract,” Ancelotti told Everton TV.
“The contract that Seamus has with the club and this team is forever.
“It doesn’t mean one year long or two years long.
“Seamus’ contract with Everton is forever.”
Coleman made his 345th senior appearance for Everton in last week’s long-awaited win over Arsenal, which ended a 25-year hoodoo in north London.
