Everton’s Robin Olsen was robbed in his home by a machete-wielding gang.
The Sweden international, his wife and two young children were all present when masked raiders broke into their house near Altrincham last weekend.
Olsen, who is on a season-long loan with the Blues, is said to have been ordered around the property by the men before they made off with jewellery.
No one is believed to have been injured in the ordeal and Goodison Park chiefs are understood to be offering support to the 31-year-old and his family.
The incident comes a matter of weeks after Carlo Ancelotti’s Crosby home was targeted by thieves while the Everton manager’s daughter was inside.
Merseyside Police are still searching for two men who were wearing black waterproof clothing and black balaclavas who broke into the house.
Offiers later found the safe, which had been prised open, dumped in car park.
Olsen joined Everton from Roma last October on loan to serve as understudy to Jordan Pickford but could be set to extend his stay at the club this summer.
Ancelotti has made no secret of a desire to retain the goalkeeper, who in turn has expressed his eagerness to remain with the Champions League hopefuls.
