Everton are on course to break their record for season ticket sales.
Despite the team’s poor performance on the pitch this season- the Blues finish
ed in an underwhelming 11th place in the Premier League- and a lack of European football for the 2016/17 campaign, in excess of 27,500 supporters have already taken advantage of an exclusive ‘Early Bird’ offer in order to secure their Goodison Park seats for next season- a 10% rise on last year’s record-breaking number.
And with a further week left ahead of the promotion deadline, the Blues are on course to comfortably better last season’s impressive total.
Goodison Park officials have been quick to note that sales were already ahead of the 2014/15 figures before much-maligned manager Roberto Martinez’s dismissal but there has been a significant spike in sales since last Sunday’s impressive 3-0 home victory against Norwich City.
The Blues board have attributed the success of this year’s scheme to a competitive new pricing structure, billionaire backer Farhad Moshiri’s arrival at the club and the promise of exciting summer arrivals.
