Everton have enjoyed a clean sweep in the Premier League’s monthly awards.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin received September’s Player of the Month accolade after scoring a prolific run in which he scored nine goals in six outings.
The England international, who scored on his debut in Thursday’s win over Wales, is the first Blues player to win the award since Romelu Lukaku in 2017.
Carlo Ancelotti completed Goodison Park’s honours double by clinching his fifth Manager of the Month for the club’s a 100 per cent start to the season.
He beat off competition from Liverpool counterpart Jurgen Klopp, Leicester City’s Brendan Rodgers and Aston Villa boss Dean Smith to win the award.
“I am really pleased to win this award,” said Ancelotti.
“I think it is a great achievement for this month. I have to share with my team because they started the season really well.
“We hope to continue and to win this award again.
“I think the key point was the first game against Tottenham. Tottenham is a really good team, but we did well and won away.
“That victory increased our confidence and belief for this season. It was a really good start.”
Ancelotti also paid tribute to Calvert-Lewin’s individual recognition.
He added: “Dominic had a fantastic month. He deserved to be the player of the month. He is young but he has had a lot of improvement.
“This last month, he has been really focused in the box and this is the reason he scored a lot of goals.
“He came back [in pre-season] with motivation. For a young player, this is the most important, the target you put on yourself.
“He has worked a lot to improve, to be more focused in the box and more clinical.
“Calvert-Lewin, with his ability and quality, can [also] help players like Richarlison and James.
“He is a complete striker.”
