Everton have paid homage to the club’s Holy Trinity with their new away kit.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Blues being crowned champions of England for a seventh time with Harry Catterick’s class of 1969/70.
New kit supplier Hummel sought inspiration from the iconic midfield axis of Howard Kendall, Colin Harvey and Alan Ball when designing the change strip.
Ball famously debuted his distinctive white boots made by the Danish sportswear company just months before the title was clinched on home soil.
The new away kit features the amber and blue combination which Catterick’s players wore on their travels throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s.
A nod to that bygone era can also be seen with the retro EFC scroll detail featuring on the back of the shirt’s neck.
Everton captain Seamus Coleman said: “As players we are all interested in what our kits are going to look like, and I am really impressed with this strip.
“It is very modern but is also a great tribute to the players from the late 60s and early 70s.
“As Everton players it’s always important to know and understand the history of our great club and this kit pays tribute to players that every Evertonian looks up to including Alan Ball, Colin Harvey and Howard Kendall.
“The retro EFC scroll design on the back of the neck is a nice touch and I am sure Evertonians will love this kit as much as the players.”
