Curtis Jones believes Jurgen Klopp will continue to show faith in Liverpool’s youth setup.
Jones became the youngest-ever captain in Anfield history on Tuesday as the club’s under-23 side saw off Shrewsbury in an FA Cup fourth round replay.
The Reds’ stand-ins acquitted themselves well to set up a trip to Chelsea in the next round on March 5 with many of the players backed to be recalled.
Klopp has handed Jones several run-outs for the Premier League champions-elect this season, with seven appearances in all competitions to date.
Despite Liverpool’s current wealth of senior options, the midfielder expects more of his fellow Academy graduates to be afforded first-team opportunities.
“I think for any player on the outside looking in might say Liverpool is a hard team to get into in terms of the players they have in each position,” said Jones.
“They have a world-class starting XI but everyone sees the gaffer is there for the youth and has belief in them.
“That is why he gives us this opportunity and gave me other opportunities along the way.
“I am sure the rest of the boys will get theirs in time.”
Jones’ record-breaking outing as Liverpool captain marked the latest milestone in a stratospheric rise to prominence for his boyhood club.
The Toxteth native, 19, scored a decisive penalty in the Carabao Cup shoot-out against Arsenal and struck the winner in last month’s Merseyside derby.
But he admits that the timing of achieving a lifelong ambition in skippering the reigning European champions still came as something of a surprise.
He added: “I never thought I’d get the opportunity so early to be the captain of the team.
“It’s a dream come true and it has always been a dream since I was a kid.
“I think that goes for any local lad at the Academy now, any player at the Academy and even in the first-team now is to captain this great team in front of unbelievable fans.
“To do it at such a young age is a huge honour and one which will stick with me the rest of my life regardless.”
