Alisson has admitted that Liverpool’s clean sheet record this season ‘annoys’ him.
Jurgen Klopp’s side amassed just three shut-outs from their 18 games in all competitions with goalkeepers Alisson, Adrian and Caoimhin Kelleher to date.
The Brazil international has yet to record a clean sheet since recovering from a calf injury which sidelined him until the trip to Manchester United last month.
Ahead of Genk’s Champions League visit on Tuesday, Alisson revealed personal and collective frustrations of the Reds’ dressing room about such a low return.
He said: “It annoys me always when we concede goals in a stupid way and my teammates also.
“When we go to the pitch, we always have a common goal – that is [to] win the game and keep the clean sheet.
When you keep the clean sheet, you are closer to the victory [or] at least you have a draw. We can work better on that aspect.
“I think when you concede a goal in a difficult moment, a moment when the team need to to keep a clean sheet, the games become more difficult.
“We need to work better on that if you want to do great things this season.”
Last season’s Premier League Golden Glove winner also pointed to a late goal conceded in Liverpool’s game at Genk a fortnight ago as proof of the need to tighten up.
“Sometimes you have the quality of the opponent, and when they score in that way, with quality, you cannot do anything different,” he added.
“It’s okay, you need to accept that it’s part of the game.
“But I think we can do better in the concentration aspect, that for example against Genk we conceded in the 85th minute.
“This annoyed me, annoying everyone on the team, because you need to keep focused on your goals.
“If you are winning with one goal, and you concede in that moment, the game is pretty much finished, you cannot do anything.
“Sometimes you have no time, and we need to learn from these moments to make sure it will not happen again.”
