Three taken to hospital following bus crash

Three people have been taken to hospital after a bus was involved in a road traffic accident on one of Liverpool’s major roads.

Emergency services were called to the junction of Aigburth Road and Lucan Road at 1.32pm today following reports that a bus had crashed.

Three ambulances and a hazardous response team went straight to the scene along with a number of officers from Merseyside Police.

Witnesses at the scene have suggested that the driver may have had a medical episode although this has not been confirmed by emergency services.

Three people were taken to hospital with injuries following the incident. It is not clear the extent of the injuries and whether those injured were passengers or pedestrians.
