Two teenagers stabbed after waterballoon prank

Two teenagers were rushed to hospital on Saturday afternoon with serious knife injuries after they were attacked for playing with Water Balloons.

The children ages 15 and 14 sustained serious injuries after they were stabbed in a disturbance on Breck Road. The 15-year-old boy has undergone a blood transfusion and a 14-year-old boy has undergone surgery.

Two men aged 24 and 25 were arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of wounding. They have both been released on police bail.

It is understood that the two boys were playing with water balloons when a passerby attacked them with a shopping basket. The person then came back with another person and they were armed with a knife and pole.

A police spokesperson said “Merseyside Police are currently investigating after two boys, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy suffered stab wounds following reports of an altercation with two other men.

Officers were called to Rydal Street, Liverpool, at around 4pm on Saturday afternoon following reports of a disturbance.
