Two men injured in Croxteth shooting

Two men have been taken to hospital after a shooting in Croxteth.

Emergency services were called to Regal Road at around 6pm on Thursday following reports of a multiple firearms discharge in the area.

Merseyside Police have confirmed that one man has suffered an injury to his stomach while another was found to have received one to his hip.

Both victims were taken to hospital with one transported in an air ambulance.

Neither of the mens’ injuries are thought to be life-threatening.

The incident took place just half a mile away from the scene where Rhys Jones was gunned down exactly 12 years ago in the car park of the Fir Tree Pub.
