Two Everton boardroom departures confirmed

Everton have confirmed two departures from the club’s board of directors.

Deputy chairman Dr Keith Harris and his predecessor Jon Woods have both left their boardroom positions following a period of review and strategic planning.

Woods became a non-executive director at Goodison Park in 2000 and is a direct descendant of one of the club’s early former chairman Dr James Clement Baxter.

The 72-year-old also founded video game developer Ocean Software in 1984.

Dr Harris was appointed to the Blues’ board in October 2016 following a varied background in football finance both as an investment finder and administrator.

He had served as Football League chairman and director of Wembley Stadium before brokering the sale of several clubs including Chelsea and Manchester City.

A key part of Dr Harris’ remit was to lead Everton’s plans to move to a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, which CEO Denise Barrett-Baxendale will now oversee.

Professor Barrett-Baxendale is set to work alongside stadium development director Colin Chong in addition to the club’s community legacy for Goodison.

Sasha Ryazantsev, who is closely aligned to majority investor Farhad Moshiri, will be responsible for finalising funding for the new stadium and the legacy project.
