Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins claims Everton prodigy Ross Barkley is in danger of not fulfilling his potential.
Barkley continues to be tipped for greatness by under-fire Blues manager Roberto Martinez after recording 12 goals and eight assists this season, but has tailed off in recent months.
The Wavertree-born midfielder last found the target 13 games ago and his recent limp performances have mirrored those of Everton, who have recorded a solitary victory in their last nine Premier League matches.
And former England international Wilkins believes that Barkley is failing to live up to his billing after watching the player toil during last weekend’s muted defeat against Leicester City.
“I watched Barkley again at the weekend,” he told TalkSport.
“He’s got so much talent
“But he’s not fulfilling it as well as he should be, I don’t believe.”
