Liverpool have spent almost £44 million on agent fees over the past year.
New figures reveal that the Reds paid out £43.8m – £17m more than any other Premier League club – for the period between February 2018 and January 2019.
That figure is more than double the amount spent by Manchester City (£24.1m).
The Football Association’s findings put Chelsea as a distant second to Jurgen Klopp’s side, with £26.8m sanctioned on fess for intermediaries in that period.
Despite not signing any players this season, Tottenham were listed as paying out over £11m with add-ons from past transfers understood to be behind the figure.
Liverpool’s outlay includes last summer’s signings of Alisson, Naby Keita, Fabinho and Xherdan Shaqiri in deals which cumulatively amounted to nearly £175m.
Friday’s meeting of Premier League shareholders in London is expected to see the figures scrutinised as part of its plans to reduce spending on agents’ fees.
