Homeless man found dead near Royal Hospital

A homeless man has been found dead in a tent in close proximity to the Royal Liverpool  Hospital.

Police were called at around 10.55am this morning to reports of an unresponsive man. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Friends paid tribute to the man, who they named as Richard Kehoe.

A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “We are investigating following the unexplained death of a man in Liverpool this morning (Tuesday, 2 April).

“Emergency services were called to Moira Street at around 10.55am to reports a man was unresponsive. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

“Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the man and inform his next of kin.

“At this time officers are treating the death as unexplained and a post mortem will take place to establish the cause of death.”.
