Man arrested over Toxteth stabbing

Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in Toxteth have arrested a man.

The 28-year-old man from Toxteth was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been taken to a police station for questioning.

Merseyside Police also officially confirmed that the name of the victim as 29-year-old Hassan Ahmed Mohamoud from Toxteth.

Officers were called to Bentley Road at around 1.35pm on Thursday (28 March) to reports that a man had been stabbed in the neck.

Emergency services attended and the victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.
