A woman has died after a road crash close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
Emergency services were called to Hale Drive in Speke at around 7pm on Thursday following a collision involving three cars and two bikes.
One of the cyclists, a 45-year-old woman, was taken to Fazakerley Hospital but later died of her injuries. Her next of kin have been informed.
A 39-year-old man remains in a critical but stable condition from the collision.
Officers arrested a man aged 21 from Halewood at the scene on suspicion of death by dangerous driving and serious injury by dangerous driving.
