A shooting range on the Wirral has defended the use of Shamima Begum’s as a target in their Wallasey based range.
Ms Begum has been at the centre of controversy after she attempted to return to the UK to give birth having fled to Syria to join ISIS.
Ultimate Airsoft Range which is housed within the secret World War II tunnels of New Brighton have been using a photograph of Ms Begum as a target.
A concerned customer took photos of the targets which show at least 100 bullet holes in the image of Ms Begum.
In a statement, Ultimate Airsoft Range said: “The targets provide some fantastic reactions and conversations and allow people to have some lighthearted fun and bring out the inner child in us all.
“The targets don’t always reflect personal opinions and we don’t want to condone terrorism.
“But after watching the interview with Ms Begum being interviewed, there was a lack of empathy that she had shown and we decided to listen to our customers and use them as targets.”
A number of other high profile targets are also being used including Donald Trump and Margaret Thatcher.
