A man has been shot dead outside a children’s dance class in Liverpool city centre.
Emergency services were called to Holy Cross Close at around 8pm on Thursday to reports that shots had been fired and discovered the 34-year-old at the scene.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene close to the city’s John Moores University, which has been cordoned off by police amid CCTV examination.
Detectives have appealed to anyone that saw a black Ford Fiesta being driven in the area after a similar car was found burnt out in Summer Seat at 8.15pm.
DCI Ian Warlow said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw a black Ford Fiesta car in the around Holy Cross Close at 8pm last night or who saw anyone or anything suspicious to contact us as a matter of urgency.
“I want to reassure the public that and that we will thoroughly investigate any information given to us so we can put anyone who carries guns on our streets behind bars and would appeal to anyone who may have seen the incident itself, or who has any information about it, to please get in contact.”
